Senior Pastor | Apostle Leroy Legette, SR.

Apostle Leroy Legette, Sr. has a heart for people that are uncertain about life, broken-hearted, and disappointed with life’s circumstances. As part of his vision for Faith By Love Family Worship Church, he desires to see the promises of God validated and manifested in the life of every individual, developing a person of purpose, wholeness, and potential.

Born and raised in Mullins, South Carolina, to Major and Lila Bell Legette who were sharecroppers, young Leroy was exposed to the power of God through his grandmother Deliah Hemphill. He listened intently to the Baptist preacher, trying to understand, and it was then that his spirit was awakened to the life of God. But it wasn’t until he gave his life to the Lord, was his dormant spiritual life reawakened.  

Leaving home at 16, Leroy Legette, Sr. moved to Syracuse, New York. He graduated from Central Technology Vocational Center in 1971 and married his lovely wife Hestina Robinson after receiving his high school diploma.

It was through the lifestyle evangelism of a co-worker, Dale Emmanuel, that God was able to regain Leroy Legette’s heart again in 1973. His wife, Hestina, soon received Christ because of her husband’s changed lifestyle. Attending Gospel Temple COGIC, under the late Pastor Heard Seals, Sr., Leroy Legette served as Local YPWW President, District President, and Youth Pastor. In 1978, he received his license, and seven years later was ordained as Reverend Leroy Legette, Sr.    

In 1986 following the leading of the Holy Spirit, Leroy Legette became a member of Agape Victory Christian Church and World Outreach Center under Pastor Charles Wood, III. While attending Agape, he held positions as Home Cell Director, Elder and Bible school teacher. In 1991, he became a fulltime pastor, opening the doors of Faith By Love Family Worship Church!   

Pastor Leroy Legette, Sr. received his Apostolic calling in the year 2000. He endeavors to increase the mindsets of inner-city people; to bring about reconciliation in families, races, and other ministries in Syracuse. While he has witnessed some great things in ministry to date, he is excited because he knows that the latter will be greater than the former. His vision is that all who partner with Faith By Love Family Worship Church, find their PURPOSE, become WHOLE and reach their POTENTIAL through the gospel of Jesus Christ and His anointing.

Co-Pastor | Prophetess Hestina Legette

Prophetess Hestina Legette is the Founder of Virtuous Women of Purpose Ministries, a ministry that was created for all women, regardless of race, culture, or pathways of life.  She is dedicated and committed to assist women, who are broken and damaged by the hardships of life, explore the root cause of their strongholds, determine how to be delivered, become whole, and understand God’s purpose for their lives.  She has Also created a WordPress page, Hestina’s Jewels which is a page full of words of Encouragement.

Prophetess Hestina and her husband Apostle Leroy Legette, Sr., are the founders and Senior and Co-Senior Pastors of Faith By Love Family Worship Church in Syracuse, NY.  Together they are a dynamic and God loving union, called by God to address and defeat the strongholds of ignorance, racism, religion, poor self-esteem, and poverty that are holding many individual’s captive.

Prophetess Hestina has created and established many courses designed to strengthen the women of God, including, “Naomi and Ruth,” “Strong Women in Challenging Times,” “How to be a Vessel of Honor,” and the “Women Support Group.”  As God began to unveil the immeasurable authority and power of confessing His word to her, she was inspired to write her own prophetic poems and declarations that have the power to transform lives.  Collecting her writings, she published two books entitled “Life Changing Confessions” and “You Can Be a Holy Vessel of Honor.”

Prophetess Hestina is a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a Spiritual Mom to many.
